Dr. Muhammad Abdul Bari is a SEN (Special Educational Needs) specialist working in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. After finishing his MSc (Physics) from Chittagong University he joined the Bangladesh Air Force (1978-82). He came to England in 1983 to work on a doctorate in Physics at King's College London and, ever since, has been in the field of education in universities and LEAs (Local Education Authorities). He has completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from King's College (1991) and Certificate in Management from the Open University (1997). He has been extensively engaged in youth and community activities since 1970. He was the national Secretary General of Bangladesh's largest student organization (1977). He was the founding President of Islamic Forum Europe (1988-1995) and Assistant Secretary General of Muslim Council of Britain (1998-2000). At present he is the President of Islamic Forum Europe. He has edited magazines in English and one Bengali monthly on Islamic dawah and education. He has published half a dozen scientific papers in international journals and many papers on educational and social issues relevant to Islam. He is also involved in interfaith dialogues and faith and community regeneration on a national level. His passion is for the ummah's revival. He is married with four children. Education:
